Description

Regimental Colour (bandera sencilla) of the Royal Regiment of Sappers Miners (1802). The Royal Engineers are created in 1711 but they do not receive a Colour until they have regularly assigned troops. Later on this Regiment is founded in 1802 and under this Colour it fought at the Battle of Bailén, during the Spanish War of Independence. The 1802 Regulation said:

The Colour is deposited in the Army Museum (Madrid) and is ill preserved. Source: Luis Sorando Muzás [smz], Banderas, Estandartes y Trofeos del Museo del Ejército 1700-1842.
